This is a RARE 1920s Noritake Morimura oval hand painted porcelain bowl number 39556.
The backstamp is the Noritake M and wreath (1920-1940), and made in Japan with the number 39556 below Japanese characters.
The colours are vibrant in cobalt, yellow, and green. The hand painted quality in evident.
The bowl measures 6 7/8 (17.5cm) wide by 10 1/2 inches (26.5cm) long and 2 1/8 inch (5.5cm) high.
The bowl is beautifully hand painted with a rural scene of buildings, water, mountains, and trees.
The border painting is exquisite with floral bands and sprays of flowers. The bowl is trimmed in gold around the edge and inside the cut out handles.
All painted surfaces are intact, gold is intact, and the colours are vibrant. There are no scratches on the bowl or on the painted surface.
In excellent condition. Bowls pings beautifully when tapped. No chips, no cracks, no crazing, no scratches, no repairs.
