This is a Quad Silver Plated Engraved Bowl by James W. Tufts #1868.

The back stamp reads 'Plate Guaranteed James W. Tufts Boston' and the number '1868'.

The bowl is 8-1/2 inch (21.5cm) in diameter and 3 inches (7.75cm) high.

The bowl has an applied bead rim on the top edge and along the flare base.  The bead trim on the base is reflected in the shiny bowl making it appear as though there are two bands of bead trim when in fact there is only one.  See photos. 

The inside of the bowl is exquisitely etched with fruit - pear, peach, grapes, banana, cherries - over a textured surface.

This bowl is shiny and polished.  In excellent, as new, condition.
