Dutch Repousse Silver Plated Dish Carrier w. Glass Insert by Derby Silver Co.

This is a Dutch repousse silver plated carrier w. glass divided dish insert by Derby Silver Co.

The silver plated carrier is footed and holds a heavy glass divided dish (1 tiny chip in rim). 

Although unconfirmed, this carrier is likely c.1920 - 1930 when much of the Dutch repousse style was being manufactured by silver plate companies, including Derby Silver Co. 

This attractive tableware carrier measures 5 3/4 in (14.25cm) in diameter and 5 3/4 in (14.25cm) high to the top of the handle. Together with the glass, this piece weighs 965 grams.

The beautifully detailed Dutch repousse images includes a musician scene with people drinking; a windmill, cow, and farmer scene; and a milk maid with cows scene. The Dutch village scenes are framed with beautiful scrolls and relief grape vine handle.  The lid has a center handle and a hammered design around the rim.  All joins are intact at handle, feet and lid button.

The silver is polished, shiny, and very clean.

Excellent condition.  No dents, no marks, fully functional as intended. One chip in glass insert (shown in closeup).
